A distinct example is presented in the film Germany, Hamburg – Hafencity, an exemplary model of urban development. It is currently the most extensive ongoing urban regeneration initiative in Europe. Hamburg sets new standards in terms of urban development by maintaining a metropolitan character and ecological balance. The project concept is based on incorporating specific industrial topography, access to water and a typical harbor atmosphere and at the same time on providing protection against undesirable hydrological phenomena.
