Long Night of Museums 2015 – Naturally!

On 16th May we are going to be thrilled with another edition of Long Night of Museums. On this occasion throughout Poland everyone is welcome to visit museums and other cultural institutions for free. The Ministry of Environment encourages to seize the opportunities for all visitors.

THE POLISH GEOLOGICAL INSTITUTE – NATIONAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE

The Geological Museum will have its door open from 7 p.m. until midnight. Visitors will be able to see the long term exhibition and a photographic display called “Iceland – the island of four elements”. At 9 p.m. the play “hare and hounds” will start. Participants are going to look for various objects and riddles hidden in the exhibition hall. There are prizes for the winners!

State Forests

The Forest Cultural Center in Gołuchów prolongs its opening hours of the Forestry Museum. On Saturday visitors are Welcome from 6 p.m. thru midnight. At 9 p.m. a musical surprise will wait for the visitors in the courtyard.

 

The National Park in Białowieża

The foresters from Białowieża forests together with the National Park in Białowieża invite to the Long Night of Museums for a history lesson. It will be dedicated to the predecessors of contemporary inhabitants of Podlasie region who were forced before the World War 1 to defect deep into Russia.

 

The National Park in Biebrza Valley

A meeting for the fans of the nature in the National Park in Biebrza Valley under the Long Night of Museums starts at 7 p.m. by the newly open Tourist Information Point. This is where a swamp tour sets off!

 

Magura National Park

Botanic Night in the Magura National Park starts at 5 p.m. The agenda includes workshops on floral jewelry making and the long night of tales…

 

Tatra National Park

Tatra National Park opens its gateways to night owls. The program includes exhibitions called “A year in Tatra Mountains” and “60 years of Tatra protection” as well as a field game with an aim to find a lost painting by Witkacy. On the way, everyone will be able to visit places of high significance to culture, history and the nature of Zakopane.

 

Wigierski National Park

The Museum Wigry in Stary Folwark invites to a photo story by Mr. Marcin Strug from his trip to Maroco – start at 8.30 p.m. as well as a lecture together with a photo presentation by Tomasz Huszcz “Are owls really wise?” at 10 p.m.

 

Woliński National Park

The Natural Museum of the Woliński National Park offers Night Tours and a thematic quiz, classes with the Queen Jurata and King Neptune, medieval dance workshops as well as weaving and pottery workshops.
